Wow. All I can say is wow. I had the red onion and prosciutto pasta with cream sauce, and just good lord. If you're reading this review just head to Solé right now. With every meal order they give you one bruschetta and all the bread with olive oil and parmesan cheese you can eat. This place is so cute and quaint and I just flat out love it. It was such a great experience and cannot wait to come back and bring a few friends. You must go here if you're looking for Italian. Quite the little diamond in the rough. Don't let the outside fool you, because inside... boy are they cookin it up good. Open 430 to 10 daily. Just love it. I am a Chef from up in North Myrtle Beach and I could strive to say this is the best italian I have ever had in my entire life.

Second time here! Great food and great service! Worth the visit for sure. Eggplant perfect. Salmon :-) the best.

To sum this place up in one word: phenomenal! Best customer service I've ever received complimented with the best Italian meal I've ever had - and my mom's side is Italian! I'd go so far as to say this is the best meal I've had in Myrtle, this is truly a locals' gem. I can't wait to go back and see Frankie and try more. Every suggestion he had was spot on and it is so nice to see an owner take such pride in his family and food. You MUST try the Fiocchi, holy cow!! Unreal. I think my boyfriend had a mouthgasm over the lobster ravioli, the sauce is so delicious! And when Frankie says it's the best tiramisu you'll ever have he is not lying, so light and creamy mmmm. Thanks for the hospitality, we'll be back to see you soon!

The outside of this place doesn't do it any justice! The inside is beautiful and the service was outstanding. Our server was informative when it came to the specials and what he liked on the menu. Before our food came we got bread with delicious dipping sauce and a salad with a vinaigrette that was great as well. I got the fettuccini alfredo which was tasty! I was beyond impressed by the food and the service. We always had our drinks refilled. We even ordered dessert to go because it sounded so good! If you are visiting Myrtle Beach this is a place you need to visit!! I will be coming back next time I am in town.

Fantastic! The Osso bucco made with pork shanks is astounding. As was the fiocchetti - pear stuffed pasta with brown sugar Alfredo sauce. The family running this restaurant are all amazing and when you eat here you will probably end up meeting all of them. It makes the experience feel very personal and special. Make a reservation, you don't want to miss this place.

I didn't expect Northeastern level Italian food in MB but here it is! The food here is so delicious it deserves six stars! Where do I start? The bruschetta was fantastic, the flavors explode on your taste buds! The pork was so tender it fell off the bone. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was to die for! For dessert I had the chocolate mousse cake and it was delicious as was the tirimisu. The service was great. One server who was wasn't even ours noticed my water was low and rushed over to fill it immediately! I will come back here when I visit next year for sure!

Delicious! My family and I always struggle to find restaurants to eat out - we have to satisfy meat lovers, vegetarians, and a soy allergy. Well, we found something everyone could enjoy at Sole! We shared the Fiocchi appetizer, which was phenomenal. Don't let pear in the description fool you, the flavors blend beautifully. They also brought us complimentary bruscetta. We all thoroughly enjoyer our entrees as well - eggplant parm, cappellini primavera, crab stuffed shrimp, and spaghetti with meatballs. We finished the meal off with italian cheesecake and tiramisu. The entrees were certainly the star of the meal, but the desserts held their own. Overall, we were pleased to find a small family run restaurant in Myrtle Beach, and we will definitely be back!

This place is a diamond in the rough! Truly authentic, Italian food. My first visit here and I'll definitely be back again. Atmosphere was very elegant with table cloths, candles and neatly folded napkins. A complementary bruschetta was served to myself and my partner. Soft jazz followed by Classic Italian music was very nice and relaxing. Not so sure if I would bring naughty children here as it is a little on the small side. Fiocchi appetizer was absolutely amazing. Al dentè pasta filled with pear and three different cheeses covered in a white cream sauce with peas. Such a smooth, hot dish with layers of flavor! Both of our entrées came with a side salad, that had a nice balsamic reduction dressing. For my entrée, I ordered Lasagna. Best Lasagna I have ever experienced. The tomato sauce was very vibrant (not spicy... Seasoned perfectly with fresh herbs) and complemented the pasta and cheese quite well. At first I was curious as to why it didn't cover more of the plate. It's big in height volume. This lasagna dish was carefully crafted to perfection. Since the quality of the food is so good, you will experience a slightly longer wait from a traditional or chain restaurant because of the care and passion put into the dishes served here. All in all, you will not be disappointed and don't let the exterior fool you.

The only good place to eat in the area. Homely, wholesome food, customized food for us. Me and my husband really enjoyed our food! The family owning the establishment was extremely welcoming and had a generous attitude - I love cooking and they explained to me how to make their sauces, risotto, and just talked about themselves. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here and wish we came earlier! The only place asides from sole iv enjoyed Italian food has been il pizzico - Rockville MD and that's saying a lot ! I changed the linguine seafood dish to Parmesan risotto and the flavour was not compromised ... Husband had a steak which had a great sauce if not the best cooked steak (we are just used to organic meat and better meat!) but that didn't take anything away from the meal because the flavours were spot on. Can't wait to go again !

This was an experience like no other. I order the pork osso buco, one of the best meals ever.

  • Lee H.

The staff, service and food are excellent. But don't go there if you are in a hurry! Eating there is a great dining experience. Truly fine dining. Don't let exterior of building keep you from going in. Seafood medley and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken were wonderful. Fiocchi appetizer was too good! They should add that dish as an entrée. I can't wait to go back!

Fabulous food!!! Best food from a restaurant ever. All items made from scratch. Small restaurant. Excellent and friendly service. Part of our group ordered from the menu and part ordered specials. Everyone enjoyed ! Do not hesitate to go and enjoy

Best Italian around!! And not said lightly. Frankie was an amazing host (to call him a server is an insult... We were treated like family, as it appeared everyone else was.) We loved it so much, we made reservations to return again in 4 days so we can try the ravioli appetizer.

Being from the New Jersey/New York area, I had pretty high expectations. And they delivered. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and Frankie was more than hospitable! In fact, he gave us a bruschetta and a cannoli on the house just from being from his neck of the woods :) Next time I'm down south there is no doubt I will be heading there.

Truly amazing meal. Frankie and his wife welcomed us warmly even walking in 40 minutes before closing. Food was fresh and expertly prepared. From the delectable fresh made pasta appetizer and two special requests, to a wonderfully sinful tiramisu-- all were done with a smile and deliciously prepared. Wish we'd stopped by earlier than our last night.

The 1st thing you should know is that its located on the right side across from 34 avenue. It was more than a great meal, it was a pure dining experience. The service was excellent, the food was so fresh that you could have mixed the dishes you want from the menu if you requested.

The most personable staff and the greatest Italian food in town! We ate dinner and loved it so much we went back the very next day! Very authentic...

The BEST food I have ever ate. I ordered cheese Ravioli and a cannoli. In fact, I don't have words to describe how well my meal was. Each meal comes with bread and a house salad. I think I need to find me a Italian man to cook for me! But really the best good food money can buy, especially in Myrtle!

We are foodies and were thrilled to find authentic, home-cooked food in such a tourist area. It's small so call for reservations!

One of the best Italian meals I have ever had. Was a bit skeptical when we pulled up because the exterior isn't all that enticing, but the food is beyond amazing. Wasn't expecting to find a gem like this in myrtle beach, but we will be back a few times before vacation is over. If you're in the area and don't try it out, you're missing out.

So glad we did not judge a book by its cover. Yes its in a strip mall but once you are inside you wouldn't know it. The food was authentic Italian and amazing. There isn't a child's menu however you can get any meal at half size for the kids. The only negative was that there were only two servers and it was quite busy. However we were very pleased with our entire experience.

After a long trip we were craving some delicious Italian food as we arrived in one of our favorite beach spots - Myrtle Beach South Carolina. We stumbled upon Solé Italian restaurant, an obscure little restaurants that drew us in by its past great reviews. We were not disappointed! It was casual yet classy Italian. The menu had a wide variety of Italian and American dishes. Our server told us of the specials of the day that were unique and truly homemade Italian. He also stated that everything was made from scratch so if we had an idea of an entree not on the menu, they would be glad to make it. For an appetizer, we ordered the eggplant rollatini which was out of this world! It was a thin layer of eggplant rolled and filled with ricotta and mozzarella cheese topped with delicious tomato sauce. My husband, who doesn't even like eggplant, loved this appetizer! The servers were very attentive to us and there was a full house. They served delicious warm bread along with Parmesan cheese and basil & olive oil for dipping sauce. For an entree, my husband ordered the traditional spaghetti and meatballs and it was a hearty portion with 3 large, mouth-watering meatballs. My dish was the cheese ravioli and I chose the "pink" sauce which is their special sauce and it was out of this world! No room for dessert but sure would like to give it a try sometime. In a city where there is seafood at every corner, it was a delicious and delightful change to try Solé Italian Restaurant. The owner is Italian and comes from a family of Italians who have restaurants in South Florida. Change your plans tonight and make your group or family try this out!! You will not be disappointed. Every table that we glanced at was smiling and laughing and loving their food. I am already making plans to bring friends back to this establishment.

Best! Best! Best! Italian food on the Grand Strand, and beyond everything is made fresh from scratch right there by Chef Carlos and Ricky. You can't beat made to order, the freshness is comparable to none. Family owned and operated, in business for 32 years. They have their new location on 3401 North Kings Highway. I would recommend this place to anyone, because I know they will be treated with respect, care, and with the best service. Being a Vegetarian I always get the eggplant Parmesan with fettuccine Alfredo or one of their special ravioli dishes that the chefs make from scratch. Amazing salads as well!! If you want to party they also have good wine and a full bar. Go see my man Frankie he will take great care of you.

Absolutely amazing!!!! Everything was wonderful from welcoming service to fantastic food! Frankie was a great waiter and his wife was a lovely hostess! Would definitely go back if Im ever in S.C. Again! Or better...I hope they bring it to SoCal!

I second the "don't judge by appearances" messages added by others. This place isn't just great by Myrtle Beach standards, it's great no matter where you are from. The staff and owners were the perfect amount of attentive. My wife and I enjoyed appetizers and entrees from the specials list which were cooked perfectly and held the right balance of ingredients. The sauces weren't overbearing either. It's hard to get risotto right, and both of our dishes featured perfect risotto. It's that good.

We ate here while on vacation after reading the great reviews from others. Our group of 6 was really glad we did. Wonderful and attentive staff. The food was all excellent, there wasn't anything we ordered that wasn't superb. My 9 year old said it was the best pasta and meat sauce he has ever had so feel free to bring the kids too! You could tell it was all freshly prepared. The tiramasu was a big hit as well. Sole is a must try for anyone looking for a great dining experience while in Myrtle Beach.

We were in town on a college tour with my daughter and looked up Sole on line. The reviews were great, so we gave it a try. Wow. Great food, great service and a good deal. If you like Italian give this place a try!

Small, family owned restaurant (mom and dad in the kitchen). Service was a little slow in the beginning when they were busy, however no complaints because they squeezed our party in and everyone was visibly working hard to keep up with the crowd. Food was excellent, typical New York Italian.....not what we expected in Myrtle Beach. Definitely recommend!

The Yelp reviews did NOT disappoint! The service was fantastic (it took a little long to get our check but we were not in a hurry). We ordered the Fiocchi appetizer which was amazing. They do not have a children's menu but were able to make a small portion of any pasta and sauce. I ordered the Lasagna, my husband ordered the Stuffed Flounder (which was one of the specials). Both dishes were absolutely delicious. I left wishing we had a Solè in our home town. If we come back to Myrtle Beach we will be making a stop here again, for sure! I highly recommend this place.

The food and service at Sole were EXCELLENT!!! Don't let the location or exterior fool you, this will be one of the best Italian meals you've ever had!!! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious...from the brushetta and stuffed mushroom appetizers to the shrimp scampi, fettuccine alfredo, lasagna and eggplant rollitini. Thank you Frankie and family for an awesome dining experience!!!

One star because I can't give them zero. Tried to dine in while traveling to the beach. Turned away for not having a reservation and the hostess tried to discourage us from waiting around for a seat. Not very accommodating.

Sole is a charming fabulous italian restaurant that you will be so glad you made it and will go back as often as possible. From the calamari, bruschetta, delicious bread w olive oil and cheese, to the pasta stuffed with pears and cheese, flounder stuffed with crab meat, shrimp stuffed with crab meat, osobuco to the tiramisu. Absolutely the best in town! Awesome job! Franky the main server, Lily main hostess and Patty the owner, excellent job!!

  • Veronica C.

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to!!! As far as Italian everything is made to order and fresh! The appetizer they offer as a special is TO DIE FOR! I believe it's called fiocchi, it was like a ravioli with 3 cheeses, pear and green peas! MUST HAVE! I had Lobster ravioli and it was awesome. Even something as simple as the spaghetti and meatballs was good. Will come back often. The son of the owner was in town from Miami and one of the most personable and nicest waiters I've met. Please skip the chains and every other place and come here ASAP! Desserts were on the house bc it was Mother's Day. I will bring everyone I know here for every occasion.

My parents and I stopped in here for the first time on 9/6/15. The restaurant got great reviews online and we love Italian food. The restaurant is located at the end of small strip mall, so it's a little easy to miss. The restaurant was nicely decorated inside. We were greeted and asked if we had a reservation. I thought that was a little odd considering only two tables were occupied. We were seated promptly. We were given bruschetta... fresh tomatoes, crispy bread - it was very good. One of the servers brought out fresh parmesan and an olive oil mixture to our table. She mixed the two on our plate for our bread. Our server, who happened to be the owner's son, came over to tell us a bit about himself, the restaurant, and his family. He told us that everything is fresh and cooked to order. Nothing is pre-made, not even the soups. He informed us of the specials and appetizer. I ordered the special $10 appetizer of the day: Fiocchi, which are pasta purses with ricotta and other cheeses paired with hot pear inside. It was divine! I would have eaten an entire bowl full of them if it were in front of me. We all got side salads with their homemade vinaigrette, which were tasty. My dad ordered the Pasta e Fagioli soup and he enjoyed it. For our main meals, I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken. The alfredo was not thick or heavy and the noodles were cooked perfectly. My mother ordered one of the specials, which was flounder stuffed with crab meat in a lobster sauce and pasta substituted for risotto. My dad ordered another special, which was shrimp with crab balls and pasta substituted for risotto. Our meals were great. Everything was fresh, cooked properly, and had tons of flavor. By the time we got our meals, every table was full. Now I know why the woman asked us if we had reservations! For dessert, I ordered an Italian cheesecake (made with ricotta cheese, which makes it lighter) and my parents ordered tiramisu. Again, everything was delicious. I will say the service was slow at times. It took a very long time to get our check and we had to request it twice. However, all the tables in the dining room were filled. Our server, his wife, and one other server (maybe his sister?) were on the floor. All of them took orders, made drinks, cleared plates, etc, so they really had their hands full. We definitely put this restaurant on our list of "must return to" restaurants.

I'm so glad I found this place. The food is really good. Everything is very fresh tasting. This restaurant is a family owned business and you can tell they are very passionate about what they do. We were greeted by the owner and he went over the specials of the day. I'm so glad we tried the appetizer that was pasta stuffed with pear and three cheeses in a cream sauce with peas- it was so delicious! My entree- crab stuffed flounder over risotto, was cooked perfectly, and the crab was awesome- it was a ton of crab meat and no bread filler like most places! I plan on coming back here the next time I'm in myrtle beach!

Unfortunately we left this place feeling disappointed and lied to about portions and prices. I ordered the "bad woman" or "la mal femme" which consisted of pasta and seafood. Our waiter gave us a lavish story about how this was his favorite meal and that it came with a lot of seafood. He told this story to everyone as he was the only waiter. He was loud, talkative, and very eager to sell. At $32 for just one dish I was hoping to get just that, a lot of seafood. To our dismay, the dish only comes with 2 small shrimps, 2 scallops, 4 muscles and 4 clams. When I told our waiter kindly that we expected more shrimp, he plainly said "sure, I can charge you for extra shrimp, do you want them?" So much for trying to please the customer. He also told us that the lobster ravioli was $20. Our check, which we waited a long time to get (they are seriously understaffed) said $22. We didn't say anything because we were tired of waiting. Their wine by the glass cost $6 and is nice and smooth. We did enjoy the wine. All meals come with salad, 2 pieces of brushetta and bread. The appetizer with pear and pasta is hyped a great deal as soon as you sit down, it IS good but is it delicious, "the best thing you will ever put in your mouth" as our waiter described? No. It's just good. Very good? No. ($11). The decor outside of course is ugly. Inside it is okay. Not fancy, just what a standard restaurant should look like. Not special. We are from NYC and $95 later (without dessert) regret that we went there for our anniversary dinner. We will NOT be returning and do not recommend this mediocre restaurant.

Fiocchi WOW it's a must. This place doesn't look like much from outside but you won't believe when you walk in. Call and make a reservation it is small but they worked us in thankfully. It's the best Italian food not counting Italy . Prices very reasonable. You won't be disappointed. My husband had ribeye I did salmon. They were both great.

We are in town from NY and I ve gotta say ... Absolutly the BEST food /dining experience! A must stop place!! All freshly prepared and cooked with care! We met with who I believe is the son of the owner. As well as his mother (owner) They really take the time to not only prepare your food with pashion, but they took the time to talk with us and really make you feel at home. The place was very busy and he still made time to tell us about his family ( which we pray everything keeps on the rise for your daughter!) What we ate... Lasagne was amazing, chicken with alfredo also very good, eggplant parm the best red sauce ive ever had!! And I had a pasta with clams and whine sauce!! Soo good!! All fresh ingredients just simply fantastic!!! I cannot express this enough to who ever is reading this... PLEASE take the time to stop ans have a meal! You will not regret it!!!!! Thank you Sole and staff! You made our night!!!!

Their food is amazing! Patricia, the owner, and her family, make sure each customer gets exactly what they want. My husband and I tried it first on Friday the 13th; it was our lucky day! They are generous with the glass of house wine, appreciated! Starting off with the bruschetta, it melts in your mouth! if it's this good when tomatoes are not in season, I can't wait for summer! Salads are great, her husband makes the best Caesar dressing. We got the Chicken Francesca and Lasagna. Both of us were eating off each other's plates. Then we went again with my two teenagers, first class service from front to back. They even allowed for a menu modification that turned out superb! It's cozy and intimate inside, not too stuffy. It combines elegance with a welcoming atmosphere. I almost hated to write a review, because I want to be able to go without waiting, but I owe it to Patricia and her family to spread the word. If you're local, you have to try it! Hurry, before they get slammed in the summer!

This place is outstanding! I wasn't expecting much based on the exterior of the building, but this is the best Italian restaurant I've been to in a long time. I came here with my 25 person baseball team, and we were seated immediately. The food was very good. I got spaghetti with sausage, and got a salad on the side. It all tasted great, and I really liked the house Italian dressing on the salad. As good as the food was, the service was even better. Our group of 25 all got water and bread within 5 minutes, and they made sure that our glasses were never empty. The owner took the time to teach us how to mix Parmesan cheese and oil to add to the bread, and one of the waiters actually lent my friend his iPhone charger! It doesn't get much better than that. I'm looking forward to coming back soon.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
